Since childhood, I can remember looking at the new and hearing the reports on Wall Street. I can remember looking at the new paper and never understanding the section for stocks. One of my most positive memories of the stock market, is the stock market club my elementary school had and I was a member of. Even with having a limited knowledge of the stock market, I'm no better than the person who thinks the stock market is a grocery store (laugh here). How long will we go around and not know about the stock market; when its talked about on a national level daily. People, I always say if you can beat them then join them.

What's This All About?

So after being on my job for a little over a year, it was time to start investing in my future. The firm I work for has a Financial Advisor, who teaches about the avenues one can take towards investing. Anyone who knows me, knows I believe in doing my own research. I came across various websites such as E-trade,  Sharebuilder,  and BlackRock. All just either confused me or gave too little information, which just made me do more research. Then I thought, if I am having problems finding answers to my questions, there is no telling who else is. In turn, this blog was born.

How many people in my age range know little to nothing about investing? Many of us graduate from college and take jobs in Corporate America. We work hard and make good money, instead of working smarter and making our money work harder. This is more prevalent with minorities in Corporate America. Many of us were not taught to build wealth. Investing, home buying, and retirement plans are all too new for us.


 So, as I find new information on topics of investing and making our hard earned money work harder, I will post. Happy Investing!!
